Do You Coupon at Publix?

One of my newest shopping addictions is… couponing. I never thought I’d see me sitting around clipping coupons, but I am – and I LOVE it!

Coupons are like free money and I’m a big fan of free money. I’ve always kept track of online coupons and promo codes (Amazon has GREAT coupons here), but when it comes to coupons at the grocery store….nah, not so much…haha!

One of my favorite places to use coupons is at Publix grocery stores.

Here, they double coupons up to 50 cents (doubled means $1 off the product). AND, when they do all those awesome Buy 1 Get 1 Free deals, each product rings up at half price.

That means:

a) you don’t HAVE to buy 2 – you can simply get one of the BOGO items at half price.

b) you can use a coupon on BOTH of the BOGO items.

Let’s say they have mayonnaise as a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal – Buy one for $2 get the other free, ie, $1 a piece.

Then, you have 2 coupons for 50 cents off that brand of mayo.

Guess what? You can use BOTH coupons…. and each coupon will be doubled and be $1 off…

meaning (drumroll please…) the mayo is F-R-E-E!
