Decor Tips:
There are few simple tips to achieve that Coastal-theme without the cliche part of that decorating style.
The elements of a coastal modern decor that I personally enjoy are fresh and bright palette (whites, beiges, navy, and different shades of blue… just think the color palette of a beach and shore) with some warm wood tones, maybe some rattan elements in the furniture or decor.
I like to see some organic decor: maybe some awesome driftwood pieces, some cast iron figurines (in lieu of anchor decor), glass votives or lanterns would be cozy, a little accent of something brass, some indoor trees.
A woven textile blanket in blue and white stripes in the sitting room area also makes sense to me, but if that could be a little too on the nose for you, any woven textile in a sort of contemporary pattern or print would feel beachy and cozy.
Your color choices should be relaxing (you know, that “I’m on vacation” vibe).
Colors should be between blues, greens and sandy colored.
Decor should have an almost nautical feel to it. The color of nautical ropes are natural and textural. Some weathered things, like worn whites and sea glass blues. Old brass. No need for the seashells or captain’s wheel. Frosted things. Soft things. Natural things.
For me it’s pulling the colors of the beach indoors and using natural materials or textured ones or sometimes translucent ones.
If you didn’t like the blue accents you could just do a whole spectrum of grays and beiges and it would still look great.
