I found some really fun and unique games this year that are sure to make some great memories and ensure everyone has a good time.

Every year, there are a lot of Christmas parties to plan – and attend. Somehow I always get put in charge of coming up with some sort of game to play that will be fun AND appropriate for the crowd that will be attending.
That’s not an easy job! There are games all the gouwn ups will play at adults-only type of holiday gatherings… then there’s family groups with all ages of kids… and then there’s our Church event… sometimes I’ll need a game for the kids to play at their classroom party, too.
Needless to say, I keep a pretty good list of Go To games when I need to come up with something last minute – but this year, I “adulted” and started planning early.
Last year was GREAT – all the various events were SO fun!
Naturally, we’ve always played a Dice Gift Exchange:
It’s a variation of a “Dirty Santa” or White Elephant game, but with dice.
Everyone brings one gift that is wrapped. Then, gifts are randomly passed out to everyone. The players takes turns in order rolling the die and following the directions in the chart above for their action to take.
Loads of fun!
When it’s mainly grown-ups (or ONLY grown ups), we make the game a little extra fun by adding a Jello-shot Christmas tree tower and/or a hot chocolate bar with the option for a little “spike” if they’d like.
Two years ago, we tried a Christmas Jeopardy game that is played the same way the game show is played on TV – but with Christmas themed questions/answers:
That was fun, but better for an older age-range of guests who perfer things to be a bit more “calm” (the dice game can get kinda rowdy haha!)
The church group kids did a “Guess the Number” game and the younger ones did a snow shovel race – they all loved that!
The older groups did a Think Fast game:
At first, I didn’t think it would be that entertaining, but I was so wrong – it turned out SUPER fun… they all got SO competitive!
