Unfinished Basement Remodels – Before and After Inspiration To Turn Your Basement Into New Living Space

Need ideas for your unfinished basement? I asked a home stylist friend how she would remodel a few different small unfinished basements and basement rooms.

Below are her pretty incredible before and after ideas to turn unused basement space into ANY kind of living space.

With her interior design experience (plus the benefit of being married to a contractor), she sure had some beautiful visions for these basement rooms below.

She says that some of her ideas are “DIY Budget-Friendly” while are others are big transformations that aren’t exactly low budget or DIY-friendly (unless, of course, YOU are a contractor – or married to one haha!)

But I’m not that lucky – I’ve got a dreary, almost creepy, unfinished area in my basement and YES, I sure wish someone would transform it into a beautiful space (as opposed to looking like a scary basement straight out of a ’90’s scary movie haha!)

This is what we want to do – turn the basement room into a family TV room where the kids can play their video games and stuff that just gets too loud on the main level of the house.
